"It's Okay To Be Mad" is a great resource for parents and a fun book for young children. The colorful and simple illustrations are attractive to boys and girls, and the story is easy to follow. Kids will learn that it's okay to be mad, and this book suggests some positive outlets for their feelings. As a mom and speech therapist, I find this to be a valuable book for helping kids cope with their feelings in difficult situations.

- Melissa, mother of two

I’m Tiffany—a wife, mother of four, pediatric speech language pathologist, and author, enjoying the crazy stay-at-home-mom days of life. I enjoy spending time with family, meaningful conversation, and a good book, and I have a sincere appreciation for dry sarcasm, quiet leaders, and my mother’s homemade chocolate pie.

It’s Okay To Be Mad was born after a long afternoon full of energy and emotion from our three young girls: a preschooler, a toddler, and an infant. Many tactics had been attempted to reduce the outbursts and associated negative behavior of my preschooler (a generally well-behaved, but strong-willed and short-tempered girl), and the opportunity arose to try yet again.

This time, she paused and looked intently at me after hearing, “It’s okay to be mad.” A simple shift in language was all it took to get her undivided attention. It was important for my preschooler to have her feelings heard and validated, and then training could begin to alter her behavior appropriately. It’s Okay To Be Mad is purposefully simple and direct: You have strong feelings, you cannot behave this way, you can do this instead. This dialogue worked wonders for us, and I hope it can work for you too.

Wishing you many happy days!
